This event is co-hosted by BCA and Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuaries (DIBS). Like us, DIBS is a small non-profit organization that runs off of donations and volunteers with the mission to conserve critical migratory bird habitat on Dauphin Island. We ran a two-day public banding event in April 2023 with them and since it was success (with around ~300 visitors in 2-days!), we have decided to partner to make this an annual week long banding event in the spring. This allows us to monitor migration at another critical stopover site along the Alabama Gulf Coast as Dauphin Island is what is known as an established "Important Bird Area".
